UVBrite exists because a problem that should have been solved years ago wasn't. We looked for a portable water solution that actually addressed the full contamination picture. We couldn't find one. So we built it.
It Started With a $5 Bottle of Airport Water.
We used to travel constantly for work. Airports, hotels, conference rooms, early flights, late connections. Water was always somewhere in the picture, and it was always bottled. Not because we preferred it. Because we didn't trust the alternative.
Airport water dispensers. Hotel taps. The fountain at the gate. We'd fill a bottle from one of those exactly once, think twice about it, and go buy a $5 plastic bottle at the newsstand instead. Every time.
At some point we started wondering whether we were alone in that. We weren't. Research told us that the majority of people who buy bottled water at airports aren't doing it because they're thirsty and inconvenienced. They're doing it because they don't trust what comes out of the tap. The plastic bottle isn't a preference. It's a workaround.
That observation was the beginning of UVBrite. If distrust is what drives the purchase, not taste, not convenience, not habit, then a better filter or a nicer bottle isn't the answer.
The answer is a system that earns its place: addresses the actual contamination profile of real-world water, proves it with independent certification, and stays out of the user's way day to day.
That's what we set out to build. That's the Beam+.
The Category Had an Answer. It Just Wasn't the Right One.
Portable water solutions have existed for decades. Filter pitchers. UV wands. Filter bottles. Purification tablets. The category is crowded and has been for years.
What struck us when we looked closely wasn't that the products were bad. Most of them do what they claim. The problem was what they claimed.
Activated carbon filters, the technology in most filter pitchers and portable filter bottles, are genuinely effective at improving taste. They remove chlorine, reduce some heavy metals, and make tap water noticeably more pleasant to drink. What they cannot do is kill bacteria or viruses. The pores are too large. That's not a flaw in any specific brand. It's a fundamental limit of the technology.
UV-C solutions have the opposite profile. They neutralize biological threats effectively. They do nothing for dissolved chemicals, heavy metals, or pharmaceutical traces.
The industry had produced two half-solutions and marketed both of them as complete ones. Nobody was combining them. Nobody was closing the gap. We decided to.
The Design Brief Was Simple. The Engineering Wasn't.
The goal for the Beam+ was straightforward: build one bottle that addresses the complete contamination profile of real-world water sources. Biological threats neutralized. Chemical contaminants removed. And the protection maintained automatically between fills, without relying on the user to remember.
We called the system DuoCore™ Technology: three integrated stages running in parallel. UV-C sterilization in the lid. Physical filtration on every draw. Automatic sterilization cycles every six hours, whether the bottle is in your hand or sitting in your bag.
The decision to send the Beam+ to SGS for independent challenge testing wasn't a marketing decision. It was a design decision. We wanted to know whether what we'd built actually worked against live bacterial and viral cultures before we asked anyone to take our word for it. The numbers came back at greater than 99.9999% bacteria removal and greater than 99.999% virus removal. Certified. Signed. Publicly verifiable.
We held ourselves to that standard before we shipped a single unit. That hasn't changed.
